By downloading or using Stoic Days, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What Stoic Days is
Stoic Days is a lifestyle self-management tool: a practice journal with a day counter, pledge, reflection, savings clarity, and a ninety-second Pause with a Stoic line when an urge arrives. It may be used by people keeping alcohol-free or substance-free days, and by others who want a quiet daily practice.
It is not a medical device, clinic, treatment programme, diagnosis tool, or emergency service. It does not replace a clinician, counsellor, detox service, or crisis hotline. Educational Stoicism pages on this site are philosophy, not clinical advice.
Health and safety
Stopping alcohol, opioids, or certain sedatives can be medically dangerous for some people. Seek appropriate clinical guidance when needed. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services now. In-app Emergency and support links point toward real-world resources; the app cannot respond to an emergency.

Licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Stoic Days on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store rules and these Terms. You may not reverse engineer the app except where the law allows, rent or resell the app, or misuse it to harm others.
Free features
Without a subscription you can use the free core, including:
- Day counter
- Morning commitment / pledge
- Evening reflection
- Basic savings (multi-currency)
- Standard milestone marks
- Emergency and support links
- Ninety-second Pause (iPhone; also available on Apple Watch)
- Export and delete your local data (JSON export and delete)
- Your first practice track
- Free parchment share styles (Marcus and Days)
A kinder reset (“The next day”) does not erase the history you have already recorded for the purpose of shaming you — the product is built to continue without lecture.
Stoic Days Plus
Stoic Days Plus is optional. It may include pattern insights, unlimited savings goals and photographs, custom marks, fuller library and journal tools, extra widgets / themes / reminders, app lock, PDF and CSV export, Lock Screen Live Activity glance, iCloud Drive JSON backup you initiate, monthly wrap, discreet notifications, additional practices, Apple Watch day count and complications, app backgrounds, extra parchment styles, and full practice themes — as offered in the app at the time of purchase.
Pause is not locked behind Plus. Crisis / emergency help links remain available on the free tier.
Subscriptions and billing
- Auto-renewable subscriptions (for example monthly or annual) are sold through Apple. Prices are shown in the App Store / paywall before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew until you cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Refunds, where available, are handled under Apple’s policies.
- If Plus expires or is refunded, Plus features may become read-only or unavailable; your underlying day records are not deleted solely because Plus ended.
Founder or lifetime offers, if shown, follow the terms displayed at purchase (some lifetime SKUs may be limited).
Your content and data
You keep responsibility for the notes and practice data you enter. Keep backups if they matter to you (export or, with Plus, an iCloud Drive snapshot you choose). See the Privacy Policy for how data is stored and deleted.
Acceptable use
Use Stoic Days lawfully and for personal self-management. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, abuse Apple’s purchase systems, or use the app to provide regulated clinical care to others as if it were a treatment product.
Intellectual property
Stoic Days, its design, and its original content are protected by applicable IP laws. Classical quotations are attributed in context; third-party trademarks (including Apple and the App Store) belong to their owners.
Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular medical or clinical purpose. Consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law (or similar laws where you live) may still apply and are not excluded where they cannot be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including decisions you make about substances, health, or emergency care. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
If these Terms change, we’ll update this page and the date above.
